Mechanics of Solids is a subject that deals with the study of the behavior of solid materials under different types of loads. This subject is a part of the curriculum for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Kerala Technical University (KTU). The subject is taught in the seventh semester of the 2019 scheme and covers six modules - Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, Module 4, Module 5, and Module 6.
In Module 1, students learn about the basic concepts of stress and strain, while in Module 2, they study the different types of stresses and their effects on materials. Module 3 deals with the analysis of axial loads, while Module 4 covers the study of torsion.
