Fluid Mechanics-II is a subject that is taught to students in their seventh semester at KTU, Kerala. The subject is a continuation of Fluid Mechanics-I and delves deeper into the study of fluids and their behavior. The subject is divided into six modules, each covering a different aspect of fluid mechanics. Module 1 covers the basics of fluid mechanics, including fluid properties, fluid statics, and fluid dynamics. Module 2 focuses on the study of incompressible flow, including Bernoulli's equation, continuity equation, and momentum equation. Module 3 covers the study of viscous flow, including laminar and turbulent flow, boundary layer theory, and flow around immersed bodies. Module 4 covers compressible flow, including isentropic flow, normal shock waves, and oblique shock waves. Module 5 covers open channel flow, including uniform flow, gradually varied flow, and rapidly varied flow. Finally, Module 6 covers the study of turbomachinery, including pumps, turbines, and compressors.

The subject of Fluid Mechanics-II is an important one for students pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. It provides a deep understanding of the behavior of fluids and their applications in various fields. Students who take this subject can expect to learn about the different types of fluids, their properties, and how they behave under different conditions. They will also learn about the different equations and theories that govern fluid mechanics and how to apply them to real-world problems
