KTU DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING Notes

Select your KTU B.Tech DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING Notes from the following list of modules.

Digital Image Processing is a subject that deals with the processing of digital images using various techniques and algorithms. This subject is offered to students in the seventh semester of their undergraduate program at KTU, Kerala. The subject is divided into six modules, namely Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, Module 4, Module 5, and Module 6. Each module covers a different aspect of digital image processing, starting from the basics of image representation and enhancement to advanced topics like image segmentation and compression.

In Module 1, students will learn about the fundamentals of digital image processing, including image representation, sampling, and quantization. They will also learn about the different types of image enhancement techniques, such as contrast stretching, histogram equalization, and spatial filtering.

Module 2 focuses on image restoration techniques, which are used to remove noise and other unwanted artifacts from digital images. Students will learn about different types of noise and how to remove them using techniques like median filtering, Wiener filtering, and total variation denoising.

Module 3 covers the topic of image segmentation, which involves dividing an image into multiple regions based on their characteristics. Students will learn about different segmentation techniques like thresholding, region growing, and clustering.

Module 4 deals with the topic of image compression, which is used to reduce the size of digital images while preserving their quality. Students will learn about different compression techniques like JPEG, JPEG2000, and wavelet-based compression
