Design of Machine Elements II is a subject that is offered at KTU, Kerala. This subject is a continuation of Design of Machine Elements I and is a part of the 2019 schema. The subject is designed to teach students about the design and analysis of various machine elements such as clutches, brakes, bearings, gears, and drives. The subject is divided into five modules, each focusing on a specific machine element.
Module 1 of the subject deals with the design of clutches and brakes. Students will learn about the design procedure for clutches and brakes and will be given solved questions to practice. The module also covers the design of cone clutches, which are commonly used in automobiles.
Module 2 of the subject focuses on the design of rolling contact bearings and journal bearings. Students will learn about the design procedure for these bearings and will be given solved questions to practice.
Module 3 of the subject deals with the design of spur gears and helical gears. Students will learn about the design procedure for these gears and will be given solved questions to practice.
