Environmental Health and Safety is a crucial subject for students pursuing engineering at KTU, Kerala. The subject is covered in the seventh semester of the 2019 schema and is aimed at providing students with an understanding of the principles and practices of environmental health and safety. The subject comprises six modules, namely MODULE 1, MODULE 2, MODULE 3, MODULE 4, MODULE 5, and MODULE 6, each covering different aspects of environmental health and safety.

In MODULE 1, students learn about the basic principles of environmental health and safety, including the various laws and regulations governing environmental protection. MODULE 2 covers the identification and assessment of environmental hazards, including chemical, physical, and biological hazards. MODULE 3 focuses on the management of environmental hazards, including risk assessment, risk management, and emergency response planning.

MODULE 4 covers the principles of occupational health and safety, including the identification and assessment of workplace hazards, the management of workplace hazards, and the prevention of occupational illnesses and injuries. MODULE 5 focuses on the principles of industrial hygiene, including the identification and assessment of workplace exposures to hazardous substances, the management of workplace exposures, and the prevention of occupational illnesses.

Finally, MODULE 6 covers the principles of environmental management, including the identification and assessment of environmental impacts, the management of environmental impacts, and the prevention of environmental pollution
